i think he is overweight because he got depressed because he doesn't know how to fly and he doesn't like his color... too much yellow, he says... so he decided to hang out with Cookie monster and they ate a lot of cookies together... Big bird got so big now and for the past 30 years, he didn't want to wear pants anymore cause none of them would fit.

Well, i think that ur forgetting that big bird can talk. Which is why he is so "special" lol...
Plus, i think he has had too much birdseed... which is why he refuses to wear pants coz he cant fit into them lol
