It's a "good news - bad news" joke.
Guy runs into his friend and asks what's he been doing since the last time they met.
"Well, I got married."
"That's good."
"Not so good, she's ugly."
"That's Bad."
"Not so bad. She has lots of money/"
"That's good."
"Not so good. She won't give me any of it."
"That's bad."
"Not so bad. We live in a monster mansion."
"That's good."
"Not so good. It burned down last week."
"That's bad."
"Not so bad. She was in it."
You can carry it out as long as you want. But this is basically it.
