you live in a desert oasis and grow miniature watermelons that are worth a gr8 deal of money,if u can get them to the market 15 kilometers away across the desert. ur harvest this year is 45 melons,but u have no way to get them to the market, except to carry them across the desert. u have a backback that holds up to 15 melons, the max number that u can carry at a time .to walk across the desert, u need a certain amount of fluidand nourishment which is supplied by the melonsu carry.for each kilometer u walk{in either direction}, one melon must be eaten.
ur challenge is to find a way to get as many melons as possible to market.

grab 15 melons, walk 6 km and drop off 3 melons and walk back. that is a total of 15 melons(eat 6 on way, drop 3, eat 6 on way back) grab another 15 and repeat. grab the last 15 and walk 6 km(eat 6 on way) and pick up the 6 you previously left there. Now you have 9 km left with 15 melons. eat 9 on the way to the market. You arrive with 6 melons. They better be worth a lot of f'ing money to be worth all the trouble!
I am living in a oasis, right? (lotta water), I would cut a hole in one of the watermelons and fill with water, all set.

sounds like you have to eat 1 melon for kilometer, for you can only carry 15, and that is the amount of kilometers you have to walk to the market, so you have to eat them all on the way. so you stay at the market! haha
or drive and carry them all.
You get someone from the market to come pick them up and give them 20%. Then you sell all 45 melons and don't eat any and make more money then if you transport them yourself, ate on the way, and was only able to sell 3-4 each trip.
The way the question is worded.....you can eat 30 melons before you leave, make it to the market and back with a profit of being able to sell 15 melons.

It doesn't say along the way :)
