Race for the kingdom?!
Question: A rich and powerful king is about to die. He has two sons and fearing they will kill each other for the crown he tells them they are to have a horse race to see who will be the next King. The sons get on their horses and told to ride around the entire kingdom and then back through the castle gates. Then the surprise. They are told that the sons horse that is LAST through the gate will be the new king. Then the race starts. Both sons wanting to be last take their time and walk the horses as slow as they can go. Night comes and they see a tent with an old wise man. They stop for the night and tell the wise man of their predicament. The next morning as they wake up and get ready for another slow day on the horses the wise man tells them something. They jump on the horses and start racing as fast as they possibly can to get to the castle gates.

He said, "You can get there on the others' horse."
Therefore, they each grab each others' horses; last one there loses.
After the first one gets to the gate, they may order it closed, so that the other won't get through.
