Math quiz?!

Question: c x b= a a=6 Solve the value of c and b. Note both is not 1. The most long, correct wins 10 pts.

Answers: c x b= a a=6 Solve the value of c and b. Note both is not 1. The most long, correct wins 10 pts.

since you didn't specify that they must be +ve integers, there are an almost infinite number of answers.

Oliver, you may eliminate 'almost' with confidence. Even if you consider the stipulation that b and c are positive, there are infinite solutions, because they have not been specified as integers. Report It

  • 2 and 3. duh.

    c=3 and b=2 or c=2 and b=2

    hahaha

    simple

    c=2
    b=3

    2x3=6

    =)

    c=1.5 b=4
    c=4 b=1.5
    c=1.2 b=5
    c=5 b=1.2
    c=12 b=.5
    c=.5 b=12
    c= 3 b=2
    or c=2 b=3

    Or all of the same numbers but as negatives :)

    If you want long how about b=1.23456789 and c=4.8600000442260004024566036623551
    There a million answers to this question if you look at it that way.

    I'm assuming "c x b" means multiply cb? If so...
    a=6
    cb=6
    What two numbers' product is 6?
    c=3
    b=2
    (3x2=6)

    actually, yes, 2 and 3 are the answers, but, so are -2 and -3

    c=1.2
    b=5 or

    c=1.5
    b=4

    :)

    This question can have a variety of answers, since their are variable and unlimited numbers. the most common answer would probably be c=2 or 3 and b=3 or 2. But you must also take into account that they did not make clear if c and b are whole or natural numbers, so c could be equal to negative two or three, and b could be equal to negative two or three. It could also be .5 and 24 or .33333333 and 18 or .25 and 24..........

    use a graphing calculator and graph y=6/x
    view the graph for all possibilities
    for whole numbers, the only answers are
    c=2, b=3
    c=3, b=2
    with the riddle interpreted correctly, the answers DO include
    c=1, b=6
    and
    c=6, b=1
    (because both are not 1 at the same time)
    this is just like the riddle about 2 coins that add to be 30 cents, and one of them is not a nickel. The other is.
