What if a blind person asked you what is color?!

Question: I tell him that color was a visual attribute of things that results from the light they emit or transmit or reflect

Answers: I tell him that color was a visual attribute of things that results from the light they emit or transmit or reflect
hmmmm, thats a good one. I dont know how to describe it. Can it be described?
you would tell them that there is a rainbow and there there are different sights to be seen with different attributes that make up a colour. . and then define a colour
It something u can see! thats a perfect definition
Say the most beautiful thing in the world because sight is better than all the other senses too bad u dont have it
i'd tell them i'm blind 2
In my opinion, color is indescribable. If someone were to suddenly see a new color that no one else had ever seen before, he would not be able to describe it for the primary colors could not mix to make that one.
I'd say it's just like taste or other sense but one that only the eyes can detect.
I would tell him to "watch" that movie with Eric Stoltz and Cher, you know, that one where he plays the hideous deformed mutant. lol
Tell the blind person the color I dun get this joke.
just like on the mask.... put their hand on something cold (thats blue), something warm (thats red) something soft (thats white) etc...
Blind people can percieve light and darkness. So I would say that colors are names for various degrees of light and dark.
I would say that just as sounds have frequencies which are perceived as high or low (anyone with an ear for music can tell you when someone plays middle C on a piano, for instance), the eyes detect light and its reflections at certain frequencies as well (colorblind people aside, most folks would agree that a blue crayon was blue, etc).

Sound is a spectrum, so is light (and therefore color).
In the movie" Mask" he explained it by feel. Red was what you pictured after holding a hot rock, cold was blue white was a cotton ball etc. I don't know how well that works but it was interesting.
watch the movie "mask" not the one with jim carrey, the one from the 70's or 80's with CHER in it. she helps him understand colors with cold water, heat, smells etc.
I think it is impossible to describe a color. For example everybody looks at a color but everybody has a different perception of this color!
say it is something that is a ruddy complexion
There is no way to describe it to a blind person. It's impossible for someone who has never had sight to understand anything you tell them. So sad!!
Colour is something that you can't see
How do they know they're awake?!
I would first ask if they dream? Without the ability to see, how can a blind person form a dream or a dream with color through audio information only? Would there only be voices? If the blind person answers my question as if they could see there is possiblity beyond what is known that the mind can produce a mental picture in use of all senses to create a psuedo quassy reality that is only based on what they hear.
While the sight-impaired person might never have seen colors, he/she might be familiar w/ the concept of different appearances of things. This, however, would not make it possible to explain one color from another. (A note to "Daiter":) If someone has never had use of his/her sight, it stands to reason that the dreams would probably only be "audio", because of the lack of input from the eyes.
I'd tell her the color ''black'' is the color she sees.
be like "something your cant see"!!!
id say its red blue and yellow:-)
