Here's a riddle for you..can you solve it?!

Question:

Here's a riddle for you..can you solve it?

3 businessmen have a meal in a restaurant and the meal comes to £30 - so £10 each.

So they give the waiter £10 each - £30. The waiter then takes it to the owner who wanted the businessmen to come again, and hopefully bring more people to the restaurant. So he says to the waiter. I'll give them a discount of £5 and gives the waiter back 5 £1 coins to give back to the businessmen.

However, the waiter pockets 2 of the coins, and divides the money up between the businessmen. So each man has paid £9 (9 multiplied by 3 is 27). So £27, the waiter has £2 (27 +2 = 29) so £29

So what's happened to the extra £1?

Answers:

You can't say 27 + 2 it should be 27 -2 = 25 which is what the meal cost. It's like counting the digits on both hands...start with the forefinger of your left hand, count downwards..
10, 9, 8, 7, 6 plus the 5 on your other hand makes 11 digits.

if someone cuts off your left thumb, how many digits have you got now?..start counting down again...
10, 9, 8, 7 plus the 5 on your right hand makes 12 digits!!!
