When help goes wrong?
I am retired so I have to watch my expenditure carefully.
Fortunately I have very good neighbours who help me with many of the odd jobs that come up from time to time.
Recently one such friend volunteered to paint my window frames, for which I was most grateful. However in the process, he managed to upset a tin of chocolate brown paint all over an expensive bedroom carpet. He did his best to clean up but it is permanently spoiled.
He kindly offered to pay for the damage but I declined; after all it was an accident. He probably doesn't realise how expensive a heavy duty pure wool carpet costs, and neither did I until I got quotes. Unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover this kind of accident.
Ah well! The windows look nice.
