... and the vet duly carries out a full examination, gently squeezing and massaging the whole of the unhappy-looking animal's body.
"I'm afraid your dog is dying," says the vet.
"Oh," says the owner. "Are you sure? He's been such a friend to me; would it be possible to get a second opinion?"
The vet goes outside and returns holding a mangy looking moggy. He passes it over the dog a few times and then takes it back outside.
"Diagnosis confirmed, I'm afraid," he says coming back into the surgery. "It might be better to put the poor chap out of his misery now, don't you think?"
The owner agrees and the deed is done then the tearful owner asks the vet what he owes:
"Seven hundred and five pounds please"
"£705???"
"Yes, five for the consultation and seven hundred for the cat scan."
Answers:
Dude you left out the bit when he brings in a Labrador and the dog does an examination. The punchline then is, "Yes five for the consultation and seven hundred for the cat scan and lab results."
