As !? mentioned, Cancer and Taurus are associated with food and homemaking, because they imply creativity, domestic tasks, and sensual earthy delights (including food)!.
But the two signs' placements in the "domestic" houses might be the key here, and that would be in the 3th and 4th houses!. I could also see 5th, as that is the house of creativity (among other things) so a Cancer in 5th (like my own) might enjoy baking, cooking and generally stuffing people with food (which I do!.!.lol)
I would also consider those two signs in the Moon position as being a good indicator of one who might put their heart and soul (moon) into nurturing (Cancer/Taurus)!.
I have also noticed that Virgo placement in the first three personal houses tend to cook well, and have an interest in recipes (why, I have no idea!.!.!.just an observation!.)Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't understand the obsession with being a "good cook" or why there is some misconception that it's some natural or heritable talent!. The skills associated with cooking may be such (i!.e!., natural or heritable), but they are surely also acquired (thus acquirable)!. So, I wouldn't go looking through astrology books to determine if someone has the ability to acquire a skill!.

Anybody of any sign can be a good cook, all it takes is practice, altho I have noticed ppl with suns or planets in Cancer and Taurus do it almost like a hobby, cos they love food and feeding ppl!. And If it pays then it's even more splendid!.
A couple of examples;
My mom has a Cancer moon and she loves to cook and feed ppl!.
So, does my Cancer friend with Taurus moon and even she has admitted she LOVES food!. A real caretaker, she is!. I think she will make a great mother one day, and can't complain about my moms cooking either!. :) But they do it for free, so!.!.!.they gotta love cooking, rite!? lol!.
