Is courage defined by astrology, or is courage something you learn?!

Question: Is courage defined by astrology, or is courage something you learn!?
The first thing you probably would think is that it IS defined by astrology - surely all the fire signs have it (bold aries, adventurous sagittarius, and proud leo)!.

But I was thinking of this quote today: "courage is not an absence of fear, but the willingness to proceed in spite of it"!. If we think about what this means, we could come to the conclusion that the stereotypical sensitive cancer and the emotional pisces, for instance, can easily be, depending on the individual, the most courageous of all!.

If a person of any sign gets hurt many times but troops through life and it's obstacles nevertheless, they have had the opportunity to become courageous!. A person of any sign who does not fear anything may become easily discouraged when hard enough obstacles are finally presented to them, as they have had little opportunity to develop courage through experience!.

Perhaps courage is a quality you learn only in the face of your hardships as a result of your life experiences, not of your astrological definitions!.

What do you think!?

Awesome! A philosophical approach is great here!.!.!.

Well, I think it's both astrological, and personal!.

I'll give this contrast, just a background for why I think that!.!.!.take the sign Pisces for example :

It's the last sign of the zodiac, and alot of it's characteristics can be defined by it's placement!.!.!.Pisces tend to be very dreamy, and restless and scattered, with changeable personalities!.!.!.atleast a strong tendency for that!. The reason being is, not just because they are ruled by Neptune, but that they are a composite of everything that has proceeded them!. Very associated with sacrifice and death!.

Now, looking at Aries who is the beginning of the Zodiac:

Very forthright and assertive!. Associate with the ages of 0-7, which is when the world makes it's largest and most immediate impression upon our minds and lives!. Aries associated with Mars and conquering and War and Chivalry and Ethics, and courage is certainly tossed in there!.

However, despite the cycles of life they are associated with, and the lessons of life astrologers have laid on them, every Aries will die, and every Pisces was born!.

I think when we look at the Zodiac as a whole, each aspects of life, and lessons that we all need to learn are tucked away inside each house!.

So courage belongs to everyone, if they are open enough to find it!.!.!.and everyone can be, otherwise I don't think they would have been given their own place in the zodiac!.!.!.some are more likely to be courageous than others, but nonetheless, everyone is capable!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

hey,
Nice, thoughtful question!. :-) (but what's up with the sad Taurus above!?!?!?)

All of the signs have courage potential in them!. All you have to do is read the descriptions of the positive attributes of each sign, to find that!.

So, to answer your question, it's both!. It's the learning of courage (HAVE to have that!) and then it will manifest as a positive attribute of your sign or chart!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

"Courage is discovered on the path of human life, a few yards beyond total disgust, and just steps before rage!. It is the singular decision to shove all aside and get a task done!. Completely!." - Jedediah Bartman, (Deathbed Confession, Part V)Www@Enter-QA@Com

I was taught that there's two types of courage:

Physical courage, which, like you said, can definitely be seen in a chart!. Those are the Mars aspects to Asc, Aries placements, strong house placements!.

Then there's moral courage, which is inherent in the higher evolution of every sign!.!.!.it's the moral imperative to do what's right, to act on another's behalf, to stand up for what you believe even when it's hard, when other people oppose you, when you're in physical danger!. When we live up to the higher qualities of our Sun and Moon, we exhibit moral courage!.

I think that moral courage is what you're talking about!. In wartime, in times of crisis, in emergencies people need both!. But the moral courage is the part that allows us to stifle the inaction caused by fear and move through it!.

Good Q!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hi there Sparrowbird!
Love this question! I have to agree with GoldenCindy! I think it is both! With experience comes wisdom!.!.!.!.!.ignorance is bliss!.!.!.!.!.if we do not know that we need to fear or be brave or courageous - the world would seem all too perfect wouldn't it!?! I think those who have no fear just don't know any better and will have a rough ride of it when they are faced with obstacles they cannot push through - just as you have said!. I think some people have the ability to empathize and can understand from someone elses point of view - thereby earning a little bit of wisdom from others - this could help one with bravery and courage (not for all people - but some people)!. Every person is so different from another - it is so difficult to say sometimes!.!.!.!.!.!.!.some people have to learn the hard way!. Maybe astrology can help us figure out if we are the types of people who rush in with blind ignorance - or if we are the types who analyze and problem solve - or if we are the types who just simply take a chance from time to know (knowing the possibilities of our actions as we go)!.!.!.!.!.!? This maybe could help us better define what type of courage/bravery a person might have - through wisdom and experience - through hardships - and so on!.!.!.!.!.!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
