What is an orb? And when is it considered a tight orb? As in Pluto trine Sun?!

Question: What is an orb!? And when is it considered a tight orb!? As in Pluto trine Sun!?
Answers:
An orb is a sphere!. A planet has an orb or "sphere" of influence!. It's generally about 10 degrees!. Anything inside that orb gets affected by the planet!.

It's like, say, you!. You have a sphere of influence and anyone who comes inside that sphere of influence gets affected!.

Orbs apply to aspects and conjunctions!.

In Eastern astrology orbs are not inherently important except in conjunctions, especially in conjunctions with the Sun!. Some modern eastern astrologers use aspect-orbs in addition to their standard techniques!. I myself do!.

In my opinion < 5o is a "tight orb" and < 3o is very tight!.

"Tight orbs" can also be used as a slang to refer to a really nice 4th house on a woman!. ;-)Www@Enter-QA@Com

In my Tropical Astrology experience, I use a 7o orb max for major aspects (conjunction, trine, square, opposition), a 5o orb for sextiles and a 3o orb for minor aspects!.

When you are referring to a transiting planet, I use a 5o approaching orb and a 2o or so for a separating orb!.

3o or closer is a tight orb!. Less than 1o is pretty strong!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
