My mars is in Leo (fire) trine my sun (sag) and I can at times have a very short fuse alright!.
I also have my moon in leo : although I do not provoke , I have very little patience for people who provoke me!. A matter of pride really!. Try to bring me down, insult me or whatever, I will get back to you sooner or later!.
I just do not suffer fools gladly!.
My mercury is also in Capricorn so i kind be a bit slow alright and not let my views known!.
But when everything is in the open : then it is war!.
I have very strong water influences as well and I know what it is like to just turn away and ignore ( and suffer)!. But when I cannot take it anymore my fire planets take over!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i think the moon can also heavily influence the temper because its how we feel about things!. A mars is the drive within us, say we want to be heard in what makes us angry with will project it through our mars!. It could also be inner conflicts within our chart!.
for me my scorpio moon makes me angry quick but i do not project it greatly because my leo mars wants good recognition, and not to lose control!.!.
this is just what i have always believe, not entirelysure tho!.
i think the placements could be opositions, especially with the moon, and also the moon sign can cause tempers, for example an aries moon may react quickly emotionally, but then decide how to project it through their mars!.
