Question: Why do people say I am TOO nice!?
Being nice is usually a compliment but being "too" much of anything isn't good!.
What do you think of when you think of someone you know who is too nice!? How do you view them!? Are you more inclined to be mean to that person, take advantage of them or are you sweeter because you see that they are sweet!?

When I think of someone being too nice I think of them giving too much of themselves to help anyone else, and in the process they lose focus of themselves!. I think of it as being COMPLETELY selfless which really shouldn't happen unless you're raising a baby, but even then you have to take mommy time, you know what I'm saying!? I don't mean that literally!.!.!. I view them as sweet, but I feel sorry for them in a way because I also think of them as co-dependent like they base their self worth off of rather or not people are happy with what they've done for that person!.!.!. I am nice to that person but if I truly care about them I will sit them down for a little one on one and tell them to start being a little selfish or they won't get anywhere in this world!.
But for the record, I'd rather be too nice than too mean!. My own family tells me I'm too mean, but really I'm just easily annoyed, sensitive, and thus vulnerable under this tough exterior so I shut people out before they can get in!. Then when I do try to be nice, they accuse me of being fake, so I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't!. Fxck it is how I see it haha!. I'm only mean to people/fighter to push them away to see if they come back then I see if they're worth that relationship I could have with them because when I don't half a s s anything, I give 100% in my relationships and I expect nothing less in return!.!.!. Oh, when I hear someone being described as "too" nice I generally picture them as getting taking advantage of on a regular basis and having a hard time saying no to people!. I know of people personally that I have called too nice and its for that reason!. They go out of their way to help people that don't deserve it!. Even after someone has screwed them over they'll still continue to stick by them!. Not saying that's you in any way!. I'm speaking strictly about the people I know in my life!. I'm never mean to them though and I have just as much respect for them as anyone else!. I'm nice to anyone that's any kind of nice!.!.!.lol!. I think you would have to ask the person who said it, because the meaning of it can vary from person to person!. I know an older lady who says that to everyone alike in her deep Southern drawl, and she doesn't mean it offensively!. If I ask her if she wants an iced tea, that is her way of saying yes!.
On the other hand, someone said that to me at a city council meeting, and I didn't like it!. Our city was divided on an issue, I thought communication was better than an impasse, but my diplomacy was seen by him as being 'too nice'!.

I don't like it when someone says that to me!. If I ask them to explain what they mean, they usually go on to say that people influence me too easily and I'm letting people use me!. When someone says someone is too nice, it is not really constructive criticism!. Their basically saying that you or I were born yesterday!. It's an out and out flame disguised as a compliment!.

i absolutly adore sweet people!.!. and there is no such thing as too nice, for one they make me comfortable and they inspire me to be a better person!.!. i think some people who are too nice are also smart, so they are not always push overs!. They are just extremly open people, sometimes i can be closed in my emotions but i love people who open up my world for me and make me unshy because they are so nice!.

It's definitely not a bad thing to be nice!. As long as you're not a push over and know how to stand your grounds, I see nothing wrong!. Perhaps you're just a really friendly person!. Honestly I feel unsettled around extremely nice people, not that I have anything against that, it's just that how many decent people do you come across usually!? I have Mercury and Sun Square my Ascendant so sometimes it's difficult for me when I'm meeting new people, I worry about the way I'm coming off to people!. I also might say something off-putting!. Which makes some suspicious an unsure wether I'm being geniune!.

I would think that being TOO nice means the person isn't too much of anything else!. Nothing else stand out besides their niceness!. I view them as boring and dishonest!. If I wanted advice or an opinion, I wouldn't ask a "too nice" person because they would be more concerned with appearring nice than offering any real help!. I have to deal with these types of people sometimes in business situations!. I am sure to watch my back around them!. The last time I was friends with a "too nice" person, she screwed around with the guy I was seeing!. Real nice of her!. lol In the end I made her cry, so there ya go!.

You have a good point!. Too much of something isn't good!. As for me the more nicer a person the more nicer I am to them!. I respect people who respect me and I love to be around positive people!. I don't take advantage of peoples kindness, nor do I take them for granted!.

I think that being " too nice" is sometimes not good because people will get the impression that you can be a pushover,but as for me i treat people the way i would want them to treat me,and with respect,because if they show me respect i'll give it back to them in return!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I have been told that im too nice,and at times i am,but that does not mean that i am weak!.If someone attacks me,i go for the jugular,because i have respect for everyone!.Nothing wrong with being nice,just as long as your not fake with it!.
