Question: Why do people get mad when they stereotype on star signs alone!?
If isn't that the most important, i mean people get mad when someone says proud Virgo or something, what's wrong with being happy about your sign, you don't always have to take in consideration your moon and rising and all that stuff, i mean that's what you learn first before your really into astrology you know more about your sun sign than anything, so is stereotyping really that bad, i mean i know there are exception when someone chooses to bash other signs but just saying that most Virgos are shy or something doesn't mean it's wrong!. your views please!. also no people that don;t believe in astrology your obviously not going to get the 10 points!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes extending a trait into an insult is bad, theres no need to distort astrology that way!.
But I think stereotyping is best avoided as other factors in the chart might completely counteract them, so stereotypical comments can be inaccurate!.
Perhaps traits are better viewed as potential traits!. Perhaps it's better to say a sign has the capacity for something rather than they are like that, eg strong Scorpio/Pluto has the "capacity for" vengance rather than they " are vengeful "
And then you have the conciousness of the person working through the chart, should someone who's learned through experience or worked hard to counteract/overcome negative tendancies in themselves be lumped in the same category as those who haven't!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't get mad if they told the truth without insulting !. I'm Scorpio and I won't get mad if someone mentioned bad traits that Scorpio ACTUALLY has !. A few might even call me obnoxious!. ;) My Leo Asc, Moon and Mars must always be taken into consideration because that is what I show the world!. It is the first thing that everyone who meets me sees!. I would not be able to do the job I do if it weren't for the fact that I am an actor and a ham at heart!. I can be very outgoing and entertaining!. I'm not a "typical" Virgo!. I'm not particularly neat (Neptune in 4th)!. Two of my best friends are Virgos!. One has a Gemini Asc!. The other has a Sag Asc and Aries Moon!. They aren't stereotypes either!.

anyhoo!.!.!.hmm i think i am one of those ppl that gets irritated when signs are stereotped!.!.the main reason being is that i think some are not so accurate or that they focus on the wrong character!.!.or they exagerate a particular character!.!.!.for example a Virgo is known to be a critic!.!.but the way some websites describe them to be its like they are these cold emotionless peopel who look for any opportunity to put people down with their criticism!.!.!.that is total bullshit!.!.everybody criticez but only the Virgos get picked on for it
canceer and pisces are emotional signs!.!.aries are known to be emotional too but some make them seem as cry babies!! so you see what's happening!
every sign has more or less the same characters!.!.which are typical human characters!.!.just some signs tend to show more of some than others! but stereotyping is wrong i think!.!.it takes away the uniqueness of each individual!.!.it makes us seems as if we are programmed to be like that and it makes people (who believe in astrology and know abot each sign) to look at us from a view filtered by their idea of how we should be acting according to our sign!!
plus!.!.lets not forget many influences which can have an effect on people!.!.!.astrologically its the whole birth chart and houses and bla bla you need to considder to work out what the person is really like!.!.!. and also genetics, the way you were brought up, your environment!.!.all these external factors ahve to be taken into consideration!!
plus astrology points how the probabilities of what might happen!.!.!.which means that it is not deffinate and that we can actually use astrology to identify our weak points or negative traits in order to work on them!!
there is soooo much depth to astrology and i dont think many people follow the right path into it :)

I think most people feel unfairly judged when a person uses a Sun sign alone to categorize certain characteristics!. We are all unique and I believe most people want to be acknowledged as individuals in their own rights, and find any objection to that as offensive!.
I get a bit annoyed at it only because it's dreadfully inaccurate to say "ALL" of a particular sign does this or that!. Using the terms "most" or "typical", like you said, isn't really innaccurate!.

I disagree with you!. It makes me furious when people stereotype based on Sun sign alone, because to be honest, it really doesn't tell you much!. I have observed people of the same signs and they are all extremely different!. Just knowing the Moon and Rising doesn't make things any better either!. My father and brother have the exact same Sun/Moon/Rising and they are as different as night and day!. The aspects, the house placements, and the other planets are key to finding out about people!. I don't want people to assume I'm a people pleaser because I'm a Libra, because that is not the case!.
There may be documented traits that fit with a specific sign, but to say that it applies to all people without looking at the chart is pure ignorance!. If the Sun sign were the only sign that mattered, I would just dump my belief in astrology now, because Sun sign astrology has never proven accurate to me!.
