Both are what is called magical thinking and fortune telling!. No evidence for either!. The media is part of the reason as well!. Lots of books, magazines, and heavy amounts of internet sites!. Having a unique birthday lets you feel like your part of a club!.

Because it is a one size fit all!. You simply pick up the daily newspaper and their is the devils reading for your day!.
Numerology, you have to "figure" out the results for yourself, (not instant) so people tend to go with what is easier!.
