Yes, I think there is something to the death and birth being connected in families; but I am not sure how a Scorpio sun sign would play into it!.
My second son was born 3 months before my father died!. My older sister had twins several months before my mother's mother died!. I was born several months before my father's mother died!.

Im sorry that that is a coincidence that you have stumbled upon!. anyone who is anyone will tell you that linda goodman is a really low quality astrologer!. her information is irrational, not backed up by anything, and is usually unique to her writing, i mean no other astrologer backs up what she writes!.
besides, it isn't true in my family nor my fiance's family!. my aunt is a scorpio, my grandfather is a scorpio, on the other side of my family i have another aunt who is scorpio!. no one died anywhere near their births neither in the family nor in close friends relations!. my fiances cousin is a scorpio as well!. no one died before nor after her birth, not even within 7 years of her birth! let alone 1 year!. that is for the extended family as well as the close family ties and close friends!. no one died in my family for my scorpio relatives to be born!. I dont know any scorpios who have passed on, but people in my family have passed away none the less!.
the thing is: scorpio is the sign of death birth and rebirth!. they are the sign of the end of one cycle and the begining of the next!. they are the sign of metamorphosis, transition between two states of existence, and between life and death, death and life!. she must have meant something else or was referring to something without explaining it fully or was just off her rocker and making things up!. because I have never read nor heard of this phenomenon before, but i do know that scorpio is the sign of transition, life and death and renewal and the fall!. I seem to have read something similar at one point but I believe it related to Scorpio rising or Pluto aspecting the ascendant!. If the rising represents the moment of birth, aspects from Pluto could suggest a mourning period surrounding the birth!. My Scorpion Grandfather died within a year of my Scorpion daughters birth, but I now have a two year old Scorpion Granddaughter and no subsequent death!. I've read this too, but no one died when my Scorpio cousin was born!.
My grandfather died a week after my cousin's Libra daughter was born though!. And another cousin's wife was pregnant when my grandmother on the other side of the family died!.
So I think Janet's right, it's just a pattern of deaths and births within the family, regardless of sun sign or time of year!.

I have never heard or read of such a thing and I have read HUNDREDS of astrology books!.
My family has been dropping like flies lately but there haven't been any births!. Only death, death, and more death!.
I think it is a load of crap!.
