Astrology and childhood??!

Question: Astrology and childhood!?!?
Our Sun is who we are!. Our Asc is what we show the world!.

I am working on a theory and would appreciate some input!. Please don't be intimidated if you are a beginner!. I want to hear what everyone has to say on this one as it refers to personal experiences!.

My theory is that we may not be born behaving like our Asc!. As children we are most purely our Sun sign!. I can think of stories from my childhood, things that I was too young to remember, which are 100% Virgo!. For instance- Shortly after I was potty trained I was in my playpen and my mother was in the other room!. Instead of screaming for her I removed my panties pushed all the blankets and toys out of the way and peed on the floor!. Only a Virgo baby would care about such things!. My Leo Asc should have screamed but didn't!. Looking back, I don't think my Leo Asc really kicked in until around age 9!. Can anyone else think of similar examples from their childhood!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

lol! You're pretty brave to be telling such a story! ;-)

I was a very serious baby, dedicated to family!. I knew from the moment I was born that I would rule an empire someday!.!.!.lol

No, but really, I was a very "capricorn" child!.!.mature and serious for my age, much responsibility early in life, not likely to whine or cry unless hungry, difficult and stubborn to train in the Freudian sense!.!.!.!.

My Pisces ascendant didn't make itself known until well past kindergarten when artistic tendencies came to the fore front!.
So, in my case, your theory rings true!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I am a Sun/ Sept Virgo with a Ascendant is a Capricorn!. Your theory is correct!. I didn't start noticing my Ascendant until I hit my early 20's that is when I began wanting to be a trend setter!. My Virgo self was always intelligent, wise, and pretty!. My Capricorn self made me want more money!. learn how to manage it and how to be a disciplined parent!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well as a child I was very Aquarian and still am!. My mars is in Aquarius and its much more powerful then my Taurus sun or Leo ascendant!. So I can't agree with your observation!. I might just have a strongly aspected Mars!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

hmm!. well, i'd have to say i agree with you on that!. for one, i was probably the most sensitive child on the face of the planet!. i wouldn't cry if i got yelled at (for some reason), but i'd always start crying if someone else around me (like a little kid or someone) was crying!.!.!.it was interesting!.

i probably started showing my scorpio rising traits around 8th grade-ish!. i'm very secretive and i don't let down my guard for just anyone now!.

All I remember is that I was a very curious baby; I learned to walk and talk very early on and was aware of myself when I was only half a year old (it happens, but apparently not so common - not that I believe much of it, but anyway!.!.!.)!. When I was one, I could enjoy dissecting paper towels and endlessly creating plays with my stuffed toys (and to think there's no leo whatsoever in me!.!.!.), and I talked on end!. Even to complete strangers!. I don't think anywhere in my baby and child years I showed my Scorpio sun, really!. I definitely showed my Gemini moon and Sagittarius rising!.

But then again, that might just be because my sun is in the 12th!.

(PS; my IC is in such a wide angle, that it actually trines my ascendant! Although the signs they are in are squaring signs, but the degrees are most important ^_^)Www@Enter-QA@Com

One philosophical thought about your theory: as very young children, we may not need to use our rising sign just yet, because our "world" is very 4th house at that age and it isn't until we get to school that we really begin to need and develop the strengths of our Ascendant!.

I think you are reeeeaaaly stretching the IC square the Asc, and you should be careful about forcing facts to fit your theories!. I think you could say that conceptually, the 4th house squares the 1st house!.!.!. but the IC & Asc, depending upon the birth place of the natal chart, can vary almost as far as sextiling or trining each other!.!.!. It all depends upon what house system you are using!.

As for my personal experience!.!.!. when I consider my very early younger years, yes, I was far more Capricorn than Taurus Rising!.!.!. but I my beliefs, unless there are a lot of planets reinforcing the rising, the sun sign is stronger!.

Sure, you were very Virgo in your crib, but your actions were certainly unusual for a young child and drew attention to you (Leo) but in a very Virgo way!. I would bet to this day it is one of the "legendary" stories repeated about your early childhood, so it still fulfills your Leo energies!. Leo will always draw attention, but not always in a bold!. loud way!. I know a number of very quiet Leos who would never dream of making a scene, but who will draw attention to themselves by blocking the path, standing in the way, etc!.

Hope this stuff helps!. I am Cap Sun, Taurus Rising & Moon!. And I am 54 years old, with 20+ years as a professional astrologer!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

this is very interesting and i have a theory as to why you think that aswell!. Biologically around we inherit slighlty more confidence in ourselves as we grow up, and this is because when we are young we do not know much and look to others for how to react to things!. Because your ascendant is a masculan sign, it is more outgoing and confident then your sun sign, and so when you grew up and gained confidence you acted like your true self (ascedant included) because you grew into your own skin gaining more confidence like a leo!.

I have also read a theory that our ascendant is more prominant in childhood and that it is infact who we are in our past life!. It makes sense but im not really sure if its true!. the only reason i can back this theory up, is because when i was a child my grandparents and family would call me an 'old soul,' one that has lived through many lives, and i believed this was because my ascendant is aquarius and, since it is the second to last sign this could be true - as i have lived the first 11 signs of the zodiac through past lives!. im not enturely sure, and your theory may prove right to people aswell!. also in your experience also leos are independant and go getters and perhaps you peeing on their floor was a sign you did not want help from your parents but you wanted to do things youself and be more independant!.
i deffinitly think it will be interesting to see all the other experiences in regards to this :)

From childhood to present, I always love to sing which is common to a Gemini, but I was a very shy person at early age, and ashame to show that talent!.!.also not very attentive, and cannot concentrate all the activities in the school or not focus to what is being taught!.!.!.I think that as I grow older, my moon rising is when it kicks in, because all that shyness are somewhat disappeared!. More aggressive in school!.!.!.As an athete in track and field, I could careless sometimes what is on the way;(Aries)!.!.!.Keep in mind that my sun is a two sided coin!.!.!.So being a Gemini with Aries moon can really become a very complicated in understanding what the true mask I am wearing!.!.!.I do believed that my moon is very strong when it comes to agressiveness cause I always do, not just at work but anywhere!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

You are not going to like my theory because it contrasts yours quite a bit:

I believe that we are more like our rising signs as children and youth!. In adulthood, we spread our wings a little more and the sun sign nature emerges!. Remember that the personality forms at a very young age; you can't change your basic personality in adulthood!. I can think of many examples of being a child and bringing home wounded birds and animals - very loving, caring, nurturing; and I was also very shy!. That was my Cancer rising!. I still feel that way to a certain degree, but I am much more philosophical about what and who I rescue and the treatment modality!. That is my Sag sun!.

Anyway, just my thoughts!.!.!.!.!.!.could be all wrong!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hi ms!. virgo good question! i can see your point, because as a child i did not behave like my ascendant "libra" in the least, and i was more like my cancer sun, because i was soo timid, and over sensitive ,and i would cry at the drop of a hat,and on top of all that i was the "baby" of the family and i honestly believe that it wasn't until i was about in my teens that i started to experience my libra rising traits more, because i became more aware of like being peaceful, and i was a good negotiator too!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Good question!

I still think that you act like a combination of your whole chart, even from childhood!. My Sun and Rising are both in Libra, so I guess you could say I was a very Libran child, but I also acted with accordance to my other influences!. I definitely liked nice things, I was a Venus child, and I wanted fancy clothing, good food, fair treatment (I always wanted to be looked at as an adult), and I was very outgoing in social settings!. However, I also had a terrible temper and lashed out at my parents all the time (I had to go to a psychiatrist because of it) I was over dramatic, and would hide behind a fake identity, I never wanted to be my true self!. I was very obsessive compulsive, and if the center piece of a table wasn't exactly aligned, I would throw a fit!. I liked to have my way, and wouldn't rest until I got it!. However, I didn't often verbalize my needs in a direct fashion, I would leave little subtle clues, hoping that everyone would guess what I wanted!. (I guess that is very Libran)!. I was a very sentimental child, I blame that on the Cancer Moon!.!.!.!.I couldn't have anything thrown away!. However, I cared a bit more about material things than people as a child!. If somebody got hurt, I would be indifferent to it, but if a piece of paper I had drawn on was ripped, I would scream!. I was not a weak child, in fact, I was a bit 'in your face', and I often acted too rough with other children, which got me into some trouble!. I was competitive for attention, and I always wanted to have what others did!.However, I could be very charming, and I was very good with words!.!.I could understand concepts very easily, and I was very curious, I loved to learn new things, and I always had to know what was going on around me!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hey, Ms!. Virgo:)

I'll agree with your theory 100% in my case, anyhow!. The Leo in me was discouraged in my childhood!. So was my sun, though, except possibly in my very early years!. But I mean really early, because from the time I have conscious memory, I remember Neptune dominating!. I was mostly Neptune for the majority of my childhood!. I'm still lots Neptune, really!. And moon, too, but the detachment had to be cultivated there!. Sun was obscured, ascendant was not tolerated!. I can remember one instance in particular of behaving as a lion!.!.!.it didn't go over too well:-p

What I did manage to salvage of my sun sign in my early years was a love of learning!. I do remember being 4, just before starting school, thinking that I'd better know how to spell some words before I got to school!. So I spent the afternoon at my little kiddie table throwing random letters together and going to my mom every 10 seconds asking her if I had in fact spelled a word that time!. Maybe that was part Leo rising too not wanting to look like an idiot in front of the other 4 and 5 year olds, though, lol!. Or maybe it was know-it-all Aqua moon!.!.!. I remember being very frustrated that I could not read yet, though!. It seemed to me that I should have learned that skill long before then, and so took it upon myself to try to teach myself how to read (9th house mars in aries too)!. Wasn't really all that effective, unfortunately!. Perhaps if someone had told me that you needed to include vowels in every word, it might have been a little more productive!. Oh well, water under the bridge now!. Anyhow, I was never a bossy kid, but later on a dramatic one for sure!. Always in school plays and such!.!.!.and choirs (I didn't learn an instrument until I was 11!.!.!.and I hated that instrument lol!.!.!.I was almost 16 when I started playing the piano seriously)!. The choirs were a nice mix of ascendant and Neptune (and venus) for me, since they allowed the creative expression and the musicality and the "on stage" aspect of things, but within a group, so that the focus wasn't solely on me!.

Hope that helps with the theory:)

EDIT: Lol, I was answering!.!.!.!.just takes me a while sometimes:)Www@Enter-QA@Com
