A water deficient individual will be cool with their emotions and lack compassion, fire deficiency will lack motivation, earth deficiency will lack stability and practicality and probably will be bad with finances, and air deficiency will have difficulties in communication and relating to others!.
If a chart is strong in water, this heighten's the individual's emotional nature!. This will be an individual who is motivated mainly by what they feel!. If strong in fire, the individual will have lots of energy and motivation to go after their goals!. Strong in air will be an intellectual individual who communicates their thoughts well, and strong in earth would make the individual a practical, hard working type who could be good with money but definitely is primarily motivated by physical, tangible things rather than their feelings or thoughts!.
A couple of other things that you may want to take into consideration, though:
First of all, there is such a thing as a chart being *too* strong in any one element as well, though, so:
If a chart has too much water, then this person could be inclined towards being *too* emotional, could be very whiney and clingy, is more inclined to *feel* their way through life, may be inclined towards being fantasy prone, and just doesn't put a lot of critical thought or practical consideration into their actions!.
A chart with too much air influence can be too logical and cold!. May also be inclined towards talking too much!. This individual would be more inclined to analyze and intellectualize their feelings and the circumstances which they find themselves in rather than just experiencing life!.
A chart with too much fire leads to a personality which is overly aggressive and rash!. Someone who is driven too much by their impulses!. These individuals run the risk of being sloppy in their actions, as they do not put the required thought and planning into what they're doing!.
Too much earth can indicate that the individual places too much emphasis on practicality and tangible things, is too material oriented and lacks imagination!.
I will also say that even if an individual does not have any planetary placements in a certain element in regards to sign (ie!. nothing in water signs, or fire signs, etc!.!.!.) that does not mean that the chart doesn't balance out the elements in other ways!. For example, one may not have any planets in water signs, but may have many in water houses (4th, 8th, and 12th) which would indicate that the planets residing in those houses tended to express themselves through "watery" areas of the individual's life, and therefore express themselves in a "watery" way!. also, there is the strength of the planets themselves and how heavily they are weighted in the individual's chart to consider!.
