You would have to consider your Mars placement first!. Your Venus in your chart tells you the type you are looking for!. But Mars shows the people you tend to meet or tht are attracted to you!.
See where your Venus lands in his chart and if it makes any aspects to his Venus and Mars!.
Do the same for your Mars!. That should give you a god indication of compatibility!.

Generally you want to look at Moon signs and Mercury signs!. In a friendship if the Moon to Moon signs are compatible and the Mercury to Mercury signs are as well, they would tend to get along easily with each other and understand each other very well!.
Love relationships in general you would want to compare Venus to Venus and Mars to Mars to see if what you desire in relationships are the same (Venus) and looking at the expression of energies and sexual desires the two people have (Mars)!. Mercury and the Moon are also VERY important here, too!.
also looking to see if their Moon/Sun is conjunct or trine or sextile the other's Moon/Sun is helpful to indicate easy compatibility!.
