Her Mars placements shows the people she attracts or who are attracted to her!.
This doesn't meant that this is what she is look for because Venus can be in another sign, and Mars in a different sign!.

If you mean, astrologically!.!. the planet your sign is under the most influence!.!. your sun sign!.!. then your moon sign or ascendant!. The elements play a big rol as well!.!. water, air , fire!.!. for example a person born under the influence of the moon, cancer says to be compatible with taurus and virgo as cancer is a water sign and taurus and virgo are earth signs!. You might want to first see if their various planets are in compatible elements ie Sun to Sun, Moon to Moon, etc!. Then look at where their planets fall in your chart in terms of houses!. The areas of life indicated by house emphasis will be where they inflence you most and vice versa!. Connections between outer planets of one chart to inner planets of the other chart can be karmic!.
