The main issue with geminis and cancers is that cancers are VERY emotional, they show their feelings easily, and are hurt easily!. They think with their heart, intuition, instead of their head!.
Geminis are not as emotional, they like to talk or think things through, rather than go on emotions or feelings!. So gemini can sometimes hurt cancer's feelings, or offend them without them even realizing it or meaning to!.
