Question: Is astrology a more ancient belief than todays religions!?
also, did people used to worship the sun as a god and the other planets!? Is it all linked!?

Horoscopic astrology, the basis for contemporary Western and Indian astrology began with the Hellenistic Greeks!. There is no exact date, of course, but a few hundred years before Christ might be accurate!. That makes astrology a little older than Christianity and something less than a thousand years older than Islam!.
Prior to Hellenistic astrology, the Babylonians and others made predictions based on events in the sky at first!. This form of astrology goes back to about the second millennium BC!. The Sumerians developed a zodiac in the 3rd millennium BC!. This zodiac was subsequently adopted by the Babylonians who later developed the first natal astrology somewhere between the 4th and 7th centuries BC!. These early attempts placed the planets in signs and perhaps noted conjunctions, but there was no concept of rising sign, midheaven, or what we would call the mundane houses!.
Tradition tells us that Judaism is 5000 years old (!?), so this religion apparently predates astrology as far as we know!. Today's better known Eastern religions are not as old as astrology!.
As for the link you provided: I have never seen or read a human being that took so much time and space to say so little in all my life!. That man is inebriated in the exuberance of his own verbosity!. The great ideas are usually expressed succinctly and without endless repetition!. Even trying to get to some sensible point was an act of intellectual masochism I will never repeat!. There are, I am certain hundreds of sensible web pages that explain religious belief far better than that one!.
I used to accept the idea that people worshiped the Sun and/or Moon (probably not the other planets)!. There is literature that seems to support it!. But someone once told me that his belief was that people didn't actually worship the Sun!. The Sun and/or Moon were the physical manifestation of the god or gods they did worship!. In other words they knew that the Sun was one kind of thing and that their deity was another, but that they were linked!. I kind of like that idea, but I don't know enough about the subject to answer definitively!. This is different from the astrology I mentioned above!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

astrology predated sumerian times by about 90,000 years!. there is a description in one of the vedas (rigveda maybe) of a constellational alignment which modern astronomers figured out happenned 95,000 years ago!. astrology is much more ancient than any existing religion!. research this and you'll find out!. then again, civilization is much, much older than most people think!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
