Question: I think that people misunderstand!?
That astrology will not tell you how you are going to act!. It merely tells you how you might be prone to react and deal with a situation, and how you may approach a problem, and what areas of life may come more naturally to you!. That doesn't mean that you can't overcome areas of weakness and improve yourself as a person!. For instance, I have a Libra Sun, Mercury and Mars!. However, I am a very confrontational, tough person, who is not afraid of conflict, because I have learned over time that it gets things done, and even though it may be easier to avoid the situation and try to keep peace, I can use my free will to stand up for myself, and in the end it feels better!. Over time, when you work on those aspects in your chart that hold you back, they don't affect you as much anymore!. So just because I may have a certain sign, it doesn't decide how I will react in a certain situation!. Libra will not always give a diplomatic answer!. Same for any other sign!.

I agree with you a lot in the sense that i think that everybody has a unique and individual chart,and just because someone may have one sign more dominant or one sign less dominant or element!.!.etc doesn't mean that they are lacking in anything!.Being the fact i'm a cancer sun with venus in cancer and a fourth house moon mind you would make me a more sensitive person (which i am),but there are "other influences in my chart as well that make up my personality such as my moon in aquarius which as you know i said i identify "more" with than my libra rising and "sometimes" my sun sign even!.I may not act like the "text book" cancerian,because there are other influences working for me,and the difficult aspects that i have in my chart are situations that i have to work through,and to give you an example of that i have aspects in my chart that show that i have difficulties getting along with others,and having relationships,and i believe these are one of the opposition aspects and the one in particular is "mars opposing neptune"which makes me more inclined to be more obssessive about things such as alcohol,drugs,sexual excesses, and more prone to these problems which i to an extent i do avoid!.!.lol!.I believe what your saying that just because you are a certain sign doesn't decide how you will react to situations in your life,but i think it's more or less up to you how you react to them when put to good use because you can use it positively and negatively!.
Yes i feel that personally i have found that the many experiences that i have had in the past and up until now were more of an influence on me pertaining especially to my moon sign character,and what i mean is that for a while i was a heavy drinker and smoker and i did a lot of things that were really bad,which has made me a stronger more wiser person in that respect,because i think that iv'e learned from that part of me that i needed to change who i was on the inside,but a lot of the times i cling to the "past" like my cancer sun would do,and old memories of things that i have done,but my aquarius moon helps me rationalize and keep those feelings in check which i rely on because i like my moon sign traits am detatched from how i truly feel,but i feel that my sun and moon signs balance things out for me emotionally speaking!.
Astrology is only a blueprint of your personality so i believe that once you learn to conquer those negative aspects in yourself which are in your chart you can be able to use those constructively to help yourself and others as well!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I kind of agree, although i would say people tend to take horoscopes to the extreme!. i too, am a Libra and just because we avoid confrontation doesn't mean we'll run for our lives if we see a cockroach!. i think it's good to keep it all in perspective!.

I agree RachStar!.!.!. Astrology is a guidance and free will is always into play!. You can overcome weaknesses and improve yourself but like all things, this comes with time and after tripping a few times, like a baby learning to walk, you get to support yourself !.!.

i've mentioned an almost similar before!. astrological charts may contain information about how one person acts, but it can't predict how society can affect one person!. certain events may push the person to weaken or strengthen depending on the neccessity!. so he may improve following his chart or destroy himself completely!. this is one of the reasons why i believe that there are "exemptions" to the rule, then again they are still related to astrology cause of the fact that they are still outside the "marginal" laws!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

With a tiny little planet as Mercury, there's much more to consider than just it's position in the zodiac!. also its position in the houses, and aspects to which planets!.!.!. and - perhaps most importantly - the situation in which mercury finds itself!. People react to situations according to how they feel is right; when their reaction turns out to be wrong, they will change their reaction to avoid being wrong again!. Or they avoid situations completely ~ depends on how stubborn they are!. So really, when considering reactions of certain signs ~ or people with certain planetary placements ~ you can never really only focus on one aspect of the chart!.
For example; when a person with a certain mercury position says something that triggers the wrong effect, and they have a rising and/or sun position which makes them very stubborn (my boyfriend comes to mind in this one!.!.!.) they will not change their behaviour, instead blame it all on the "other" and never initiate into any kind of conversation with that person again!. Because that other person doesn't understand their unique personality!.
Now if that person would have a less "stubborn" rising or sun position (sun in 12th springs to mind here, for a basic example), they are more likely to change their own behaviour and write the misunderstanding down as "live & learn"!. They would end up acting less like their typical mercury position, but I feel that is due to other, softer positions!.
Theoretically, I am inclined to believe that as long as people are not faced with situations where their behaviour needs to be altered, they will act typically to their chart!. It is once we interact and *live and learn* that we make slight adjustments to our personalities!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
