Question: Why is there so much dogma in astrology considering its supposedly ''new age''!?

Would you clarify this question, perhaps with an example or two!. I think it is too open ended as is, but it could be really interesting!.
While the most prevalent perception is that contemporary astrology is "new age," that is only part of the picture!. The new agers are probably in the majority, but there is a strong strain of traditionalists researching and publishing astrological texts going back as far as 2000 years and what they found is hardly new age!. Those that consider themselves "psychological" astrologers might not consider themselves "new age!." Actually for better or for worse there is a pretty broad spectrum of belief and technique that comes under the heading of astrology!.
I'm really interested in what it is that makes you think that astrology is any more dogmatic than any other field!. In one sense I think you're right, but I don't think we're looking at the same things!.
