Since Harry Potter is a Leo...?!
Question: Since Harry Potter is a Leo!.!.!.!?
!.!.!.do you think it was necessary for him to be an orphan and to lose every one of his parent figures--i!.e!. in the physical realm!? Is that what it takes to develop the positive Leo traits of courage, leadership, and inner strength!? There are so many scenes when, even though he has support, he has to go it alone and come out victorious--battling outer and inner forces of darkness, including his own ego!. Tragic and yet exciting to watch Harry grow up!.
After the rare sucky day I've just had, it is time for me to immerse my temporarily bruised and bewildered double Scorp, Leo NN inner child self into Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire!. (Love you, J!.K!. Rowling!.)
Hey, another question!. There are some pretty cool websites on Harry Potter astrology--each character having been written with a specific sun sign profile in mind!. Has anyone written a book on the subject!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't believe that it was necessary for Harry to lose his parents in order to develop the Leo traits--I feel that Rowling was using that situation to build tension in the story and to set the character up in a sympathetic situation so that the readers would empathize!.
Non-fiction Leos have plenty of opportunities to build the character traits that make that sign shine through the normal lessons of their Saturn!. In Harry's case, his parents would have probably helped him develop those leadership skills anyway, as they are depicted as wonderful, nurturing people!.
(I do find it ironic that Snape is a Capricorn!.!.!.I approve!. I've always loved Alan Rickland!.!.!.)Www@Enter-QA@Com

JK Rowling developed a prominent character from each sign (these are based upon the characters' fictional b-days, and NOT the actual b-day of the actor who plays them) Check it out!.!.!.it definitely fits the bill:
Aries ~ Fred and George Weasley
Taurus ~ Professor Sprout
Gemini ~ Draco Malfoy
Cancer ~ Dobby the House Elf
Leo ~ Harry Potter
Virgo ~ Hermione Granger
Libra ~ Professor McGonagall
Scorpio ~ Molly Weasley
Sagittarius ~ Rubeus Hagrid
Capricorn ~ Professor Snape
Aquarius ~ Arthur Weasley
Pisces ~ Ron Weasley
!.!.!.and there are more from each sign, too!.
also, the 4 houses each represent an astrological element ~
Gryffindor is fire, Hufflepuff is earth, Ravenclaw is air and Slytherin is water!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The character is reflective of JK Rowling herself!. She gave Harry her same birthday!. She is also a strong believer in Astrology, as so many metaphors of the book allude to!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No, I don't think it was necessary for him to lose his parents to develop the positive Leo traits!. I think that because he is a Leo, he was well-equipped to handle so much adversity with courage!. He's just lucky that he IS a Leo because it would have been a totally different story if he was any other sign (except maybe Scorpio)!. If he was a Scorpio then he probably would have beat Voldemortt in the first story by leveling the entire school with his rage!.
Damn, I didn't know Slytherin represented water! That effin sucks!Www@Enter-QA@Com
