What are the more 'current' star signs?!

Question: What are the more 'current' star signs!?
Clearly, the universe is not the same now as it was centuries ago!. The star sign we use are the same as they were when astrology first became popular!. For instance, popular culture suggest I am a Sagittarius, but it's highly unlikely that I was actually born under Sagittarius!.

Any ideas!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
The signs are the same!.!.!. it's just the placement that's different!.

OK, here's the deal!.!.!. what you're talking about is the Sidereal Zodiac, in which days are slightly shorter and the positions shift, therefore currently the Sun/constellation alignment is different than in the Tropical Zodiac!. And many people like the claim it's "true" astrology!.!.!. and I suppose that's fair, but here's an explanation:

Astrology and the Zodiac was originally created by ancient cultures as what would be considered a religion/science hybrid today!. Most EVERY world religion is actually based on Astrology!. Likewise, it was originally used not only for individuals, but also for the course of history as a whole (the Egyptian Sphinx, ie: lion, is a good example - said to be facing the direction Leo, ie: lion, was in the sky when our culture/world [not necessarily Earth itself] was created, and where Leo will be when it's destroyed)!. The movement of pretty much everything (the Sun within the galaxy, the constellations in relation to Earth, etc!.!.!.) is within the context of a long-term history, a bit less than 26,000 years (basically, how long it takes for things to move throughout the galaxy and wind up at the same position they started)!. This 26,000 years is divided up into 12 periods of around 2,000 years each!. This is the true purpose of Astrology, and the context in which individuals exist!. 26,000 years is long grandiose!.!.!. but the average human life in the Western World is only around 77 years!. Therefore, we're barely even blips on the radar, and our lives are within context of history as a whole!.

And *this* is the view of the Tropical Zodiac!. It's not that it was all created thousands of years ago without consideration to the shift in placement as so many people say!. All of that was HEAVILY considered, and that's part of Astrology!. Since each individual is inferior to history as a whole, history takes precedence!. So the same "traditional" signs and placements still apply to individuals - but as a progression/human evolution throughout the ages!. A Sagittarius is still a Sagittarius!.!.!. in context of EVERYTHING ELSE happening in the universe!. Just because the positions are different doesn't mean the old positions don't still apply - in fact, they apply more, as they create a context for our relation to the world around us and our place in history and human evolution (cultural, spiritual, intellectual, physical, etc!.!.!.)!.

The Sidereal Zodiac only focuses on individuals!. There's no long-term history outlook, and no world context for individuals to exist in!. It's all very short-sighted and selfish, in my opinion!.!.!. it's solely about each individual person (and thus the prefered Zodiac for questions like "OMG, so, liek, am I gunna get a promotion or sumthing!?")!. However, when used with the Tropical Zodiac (ie: in context), it can be interesting!.!.!. the Sidereal applies to the individual, and the Tropical applies to the individual's place in the world and history!. Likewise, the Sidereal applies to daily events, and the Tropical applies to how you'll grow and develop throughout your lifetime!. The Sidereal is a very limited and specific view, and the Tropical is broad and all-encompassing!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Tropical Astrology is what most astrologers use today!. Here is a link:

Sidereal Astrology on the other hand would put your sign back by approximately 24 degrees:

I suggest you study both and decide for yourself which one you think does the best job of analyzing yourself and people you know!. Many siderealists feel that their method is the most accurate since its primary feature is that the signs of the zodiac align to the sky constellations of the same name!. I prefer Tropical myself because I'm not truly into categorizing by sun sign, etc!. I am more interested in aspects in a chart, since I have found that is what really is most important from what I have concluded in my own personal studies!. Since aspects are a mathematical issue, the issues remain the same whether viewed from a Tropical or Sidereal perspective!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I like the answer Iris gave and I agree; birth chart aspects are more critical!. Sun sign astrology, regardless of the particular model you use (sidereal or tropical), compared to looking at the birth aspects is like comparing a horse to a Ferrari!.

Many people look at their sun sign interpretations and often feel that they are so unlike their typical sun sign description!. Well sunshine that's because there is a whole lot more under the hood!. Maybe you have a Pluto Sun birth aspect and are a completely driven, competitive and ambitious person and you cannot figure why you are not like the typical Pisces!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i'm *really* supposed to be a saggitarius but i don't feel like one!. i look at the sagg people i know and you know that's a real sagg (NOT a scorpio at all)!. how, why that is i don't know!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
