True, I have heard this association with Capricorns also, but I tend to think it's environmental more than astrological!.
I could understand why a Capricorn would want to!.!.!.as a Cap I tend to be a bit cynical and that lends itself to drinking, and possibly alcoholism!. also, Capricorn is frequently inhibited or reserved in personality, and may feel that drinking helps reduce that anxiety!. And some, like me, just love good wine!.!.!.I try to sample one new bottle a week!.!.!.!.
(But I'm an "old" goat!)

Not all, but there IS a notable tendency for the Cardinal signs to drink more (Cap, Cancer, Aries & Libra)!. 'Specially if there is LOTS of Cardinal in the chart, and also some squares!. The movement of the energy is so intense for the person, often a release is felt through!.!.!.imbibing!.
