Good question! I have no clue why, but I know it really irritates me, especially when I was only saying the fact!. I only give a thumbs down to someone who is deliberately mean or rude, or to somebody who copy's and pastes from a website and doesn't give that website credit, especially when somebody is looking for a personal answer!. However, excuse my ignorance, does it even matter if somebody gets a thumbs up or down!? I've yet to figure all this out!. Are there points or something for such things!? I think that some people give thumbs down out of spite!. And in my opinion that is wrong!. I only give a thumbs down if the person commented really rudely or personally attacked someone's question!. That is just wrong!. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all!. also, if you don't know anything about the question asked or don't believe in the question!.!.!.just don't answer!. That is just my opinion!. Don't worry about those who criticize you!. We all know you ask great questions!. And give wonderful responses!. Others are just jealous!! Lol!. Hope I helped!.

I think that some people give answers thumbs down because they disagree with the answer!. Some may give it out of spite, but these folks are few and far between!. Finally, there are a lot of Y/A folks who just do not or cannot read carefully--because of basic illiteracy or a lack of knowledge!. They give answers that they do not understand thumbs down!.
In this world, esp!. the segment of the world reflected by Y/A, many think they have all the "right" answers, not only for themselves but for other people!. When I give thumbs down it's not out of spite is just out of disagreement excepting in the vegetarian/vegan area there I do out of spite thumb downs against the meat pushers trying to tell vegetarians & Vegans that yecky meat tastes good!
