my dad is an Aries and i am a scorpio, we argue too and i get very upset as i was not brought up with him and i wish he would give more in emotional terms as i am very soft and he is so much harder than me.
i never feel i mean all that much to him and he could give or take me, where as i love being with him.
he can be moody and very sharp with words too.

Hi Billy... I'm an Aries too; and know from my own experience that this can really be an exciting (often irresistible) combination.... but it's not necessarily an *easy* one....
Scorpio: ruled by Water. Aries: ruled by Fire. Too much water can put fire out. Too much fire can drive water past the boiling point, and into steaming vapor! (Yikes!) As long as you two can learn to respect each others boundaries, and not infringe into the space of the other too much... it can be a good combination. (actually, a rather thrilling combination) It takes some practice though, and a good foundation of mutual respect from both sides. If you can't find a good balance... you will risk antagonizing each other to a large degree, or worse... (I won't go there, but use your imagination.)
As an Aries, I'm naturally attracted to Scorpio's myself... but at the same time, I've had some of my most heated arguments with Scorpio's too... so I always handle them with caution, if ya know what I mean. It can be good though, if both sides are willing to work at it... the key is to find the right sort of balance. Like the way a toasty fire can warm you up on a frosty winter night, or the way an ice cold drink of water can hit the spot on a hot summer day. That said, too much of one or the other (fire or water) can cause some problems, but finding the right proportions can lead to near perfection.
