Psychics... Why are you all fake?!
Question: Okay, I've been a bit sneaky and my question has nothing to do with the title. It's just i've put up my original question around 3 times and had no replies and I'm desperate. My question is my grandma died earlier this year. I'm thinking of going to see a psychic to contact her. I was just wondering whether psychics are real or fake? If they are real , is there anyway to find a true psychic from a false one b4 I go to see them? And where do I start looking?

ok well,
my mom just told me this last night. how wierd!
ok so my mom and her three sisters were like overwhelmed with grief when her grandma died. but my mom and her one sister decided that they needed to know that she was alright. so they prayed. but then oneday, they were driving somehwere and then bam! out of nowhere were signs that said "psychics here!" and they said cool! let's see this! so they picked out a psychic at random and she didnt know ANYTHING about my family or anything. So, she told my mom,
"You're worried about her aren't you?"
-mom- 'who?'
"The little old lady, in a purple dress with long white hair standing behind you with her hand on your shoulder. It sounds like she is speaking spanish, but im not sure...she wants you to know everything's going to be okay."
Well, my mom and aunt were floored. My great gma had been buried in her favorite color purple, and her favorite purple dress. She had long white hair and spoke fluent Spanish.
How wierd. How cool and mystifying. Yet, how reassuring?
So, I would say, go for it.
You never know. That story just goes to show you that most psychics are creeps. But there are a few that know what they are talking about.

If they know your name and were expecting you when you arrived, they're real.
The only way you can find a real one is by reputation and having faith in the psychic by consulting the spirits, that helps as well... I think in order for a psychic to have an accurate reading, you have to some degree have faith in them.... Good luck.

some are real, I have met many real ones who are my friends. But most are just scams. You have to watch out. Don't call hotlines or online websites.

I'm a real psychic but my talent is too weak to call on at will like you are talking. I would suggest, if you have the money, go see Sylvia Brown. She's an excellent psychic of extroardinary ability. She's on Montel William's show during the week. She's kind of expensive but she's the most worth it. I would see her over any other psychic except her son but he doesn't do readings too often.
It's VERY hard to find a psychic that's real I found one at a psychic convention advertised in the newspaper
You're not looking for a psychic per say, you're looking for a Medium. Some Mediums are legitimate, some are not. You need to be very careful that you don't get your money taken and end up disappointed. I will tell you this: I had a reading with a Medium done and I got contact from one of my father's deceased relatives instead of the person I wanted contact from. The Medium won't necessarily pick up on your grandmother even if he/she is legit, so you should know that going in. Do you have a "psychic" or "mystical" type of store near you anywhere? You could start there and see if they can suggest someone. Good luck.

I've never met a real one, but I'm closed-minded about it. I think if that's really the only way you'll feel better about your Grandmother (sorry for your loss, by the way,) then you should do it. But bear this in mind: if there really are psychics, don't you think they have a certain fallibility? I think that, if I were a psychic and I couldn't get a good read on someone, I would just say what they wanted me to say to spare their feelings.
I thin there are more fakes than the real deal, and that's what you're most likely to run into. Just people trying to make a pretty penny off of another person's tragedy.
I think that you really have to decide on what you really believe if you are animate about not believing the fact is no matter who you go to you will not be affected or believe the person that is telling you about your g-ma. I really think you should remember her as she was and try not to involve others in the quest, you are in mourning and you need to work through it in your own time. Be strong and keep her memory alive. I am sorry to hear about that. Best of luck.

go to her grave, lay some flowers and talk to it if you want some closure. (they do it in movies, but it actually helps, i would know)
and try praying.... even if you're not religious; asking the local youth pastor helped me.

I believe everyone has a little psychic ability. But as far as a "real" psychic is concerned......no such luck. I saw a psychic in New York City for fun 10 years ago, and nothing happened that she said would. Alot of the answers they give you are from questions they've already asked. Like, "Has anyone near do you passed away". And you reply, "Yes, my Grandfather Jo". The psychic then says, " I'm getting a sign from an older man saying he loves you", or something like that! I wouldn't go to get in touch with a loved one and it's just for entertainment only.
okay...so i personally don't believe in psychics...but that does not mean that they are fake...you have to decide that for yourself. Lots of people on here will tell you that they are fake and stupid but its kinda like ghosts and the paranormal...if you have had experiences or believe hard enough...then things are possbile. It is however (i imagine) VERY hard to find a good one. Look for some one who has also tried rather than some one giving you a random link.

The overwhelming majority of psychics, if not all, are fakes. If psychics were REALLY real, and could contact the decreased and prove it, then that would cause world religions to crumble, being as they are all based on a faith of something you cannot prove ie life after death. Don't waste your money and have the memory of your Grandma abused and tarnished by some money grabbing charlatan. I don't have an alternative, but psychics just arent an option. Good Luck.
I think you're talking about what are called "mediums."
Some of them are "real" in the sense that they believe in their own abilities, which may or may not be real themselves. Others are fakes who operate by picking up subtle clues from their clients.
I am personally convinced that psychic abilities are not only real but kind of routine.
However, I wouldn't know how to recommend one psychic or medium over another.
My aunt is psychic. She lives in France. When my grandmother died she really helped me. I asked her whether or not my grandmother was with me and she began naming off when she was with me. She said I was in a store trying on rings and my grandmother was there, she said when I was in my car and dumped everything out of my purse my grandmother was there, when I was driving on a curvy road and almost got in an accident my grandmother was there. All of these instances I was alone and all happened a few weeks after my grandmothers death. Being that she lives in France there is no way she could have seen me.
There are also plenty of frauds, I went to Thailand and a psychic read my fortune, but I realized how he had fooled me. Beware of paying a lot of money.
Talking to a psychic may make things easier, but sometimes they are fake. Regardless you should just know and remember your grandmother is near you now and if you want to talk to her, she is there.

i think it depends on which one. we have a family friend and she went to see the psychic before she met her current husband, the woman said she was going to marry a man with dark brown hair and blue eyes, and thats true. i guess it depends but im not really sure? you should try it though
I would be wary of anyone who asks for money to help you.
Evidence for anything paranormal is lacking. All there is are stories, no proof. Stories are not proof. There is still a million dollars waiting for someone that can prove any type of paranormal ability or event. Under control conditions. Just simply do what you claim and it's yours.

Going to any psychic would not get a great session to talk to grandma. You need a channeller or a spirit medium to get a better reading. Some psychics do not channel, you see?
Try to get one by word of mouth from someone you trust, not out of a phonebook. If not, then go to some metaphysical supply shops and look for readers, not just a home with an eye or palm sign on the front. Read a few books at the library - dewey decimal 133. area - to read about how some famous psychics that talk to the dead, what their sessions are like, so you have an idea of a quality reading.
Don't buy products other than a reading, and have a limit on how much you want to spend please - I don't want you to go broke for grandma.
