The most important planet in any horoscope is the Sun. The Sun is your urge to be yourself, urge to be important, and your process of becoming. We evolve into the Sun through the course of our lifetimes. So, you can consider it a continous process.
As far as compatability is concerned, you have to really look at everything in the chart. If two people have the same Moon sign, then it reflects that they need the same type of nurturing and have the same types of needs. If you have to individuals who are both emotional by nature, this could be very difficult because both of them would need the emotional support of the other, so one of the two people would feel left out because they would be cast in the role of the nurturer. So, you get what you get whether it works out to be good or difficult is up to the two people in question.
