Why is having plutto in the 12th house a bad thing?!

Question: this is what my pluto is from astro.com
Pluto Scorpio 2°53'56 end of house 12
And the description that it gives me is not bad at all, its very interesting. I read it in another question that its the worst placement for Pluto and I want to know why.

Thank you :D

Umm, I wouldn't say it's a bad thing...just a difficult one to deal with.

Pluto represents transformation. Pluto in your 12th house may mean that you get transformed through your subconscious mind (it is also connected with dreams). Something that cannot be easily controlled or figured out.

But, generally, I wouldn't say it's a bad placement. Pluto rules Scorpio and Pisces (a trine to Scorpio sign)rules 12th house. So, 12th house is not exactly "unfriendly" to Pluto, as a water planet.

edit: I just thought that perhaps because Pluto is considered controlling, as well, your 12th house Pluto may also mean that you repress your emotions or feelings that may come from the unknown part of yourself.

edit2: Hehe, it's okay...Well, since 12th house influences are connected to the subconscious mind, ANY planet that falls into it is automatically less controlled than it would be if in some other house. Pluto is a planet with GREAT force, most of which is used for transformation.

I think that such a great power in such an uncontrollable "field" as the 12th house can be quite tricky to deal with. When finding yourself changing, you can never know what caused it. Moreover, since you cannot know what caused it, you cannot know how to handle this force so that it can only have a positive effect.

In other words, with this placement it is very possible that you only learn after you "suffer" (it's not as negative as it may sound, though). However, after some of these "lessons", you may become exceptionally perceptive intuitively or phychically.

PS. Please note that every placement has pros and cons. The more difficult the problems you have to face, the more rewarding the outcome will be. Consider yourself as a hard nut for running into this one :)

You're welcome

If it's at the end of house 12, then it manifests itself in the 1 house, not the 12th. So you can actually read it as pluto in the first house. I have the same thing and pluto on the ascendant is NOT easy. You have many transformations and tough circumstances that you may have went through, or are going through.
