Saggitarius and shy...?!
Question: is this unnusual? I mean im not naturally reserved or anything. Im confident one i get to know someone one well. Arqward in social situations. But very outgoing and confident around family ive really got to know well.

Not at all.. I'm a Sagittarius also. I do perfectly, like the guy above me said, with one on one type of deals. What's your rising sign? That could also play a part in the shyness. Mine is Virgo.. which could explain why to the rest of the world I come off and shy and quiet.
But I'm fine with that because eventually, wherever I am, I'll be able to adapt and come out of my shell so to speak.
I wouldn't worry about it; Just do whatever makes you comfortable. Nothing wrong with being shy.. usually those who are, are very very nice people..
Give it time to learn more about yourself and who you are.

it's not for me. I'm a saggitarius aswell and let me tell you, boy do crowds intimidate me. I guess "intimidate" would be going over board, but seriously i'm the same way. I'm very social when it comes to one on one relationships. This is one of the reasons im not good at clubbing or partying much. I rather just have a nice layed back gathering with all my close friends and/or family members.
I'm a Sagittarian, and I am very shy when surrounded by crowds-i dont know why. I'm ok with friends and family though.

Most shy people are not shy around their family and close friends. You are basically rationalizing to yourself that you fit the criteria for a saggitarius star sign because you were born under it when in fact you are the opposite. A saggitarius is supposed to be outgoing, you are the opposite. Basically horoscopes are fake garbage and you are living proof of it. You say that you fit some of the traits, well it's not unlikely that any person can be retrofit to some of the attributes that any star sign indicates.
