Is it possible to be more than one sign???!

Question: obviously, this makes the whole astrology thing bogus. But anyways, Im an aquarius, but people usually tell me they think im a Pisces. im starting to find it interesting, b/c most of my friends are scorpios. and supposedly, pisces/scorpio is good compatability? confusing. i read a description of aquarius, and i can say i match it for the most part, b/c i am humanitarian, i like attention, im ahead of my time in a way. on the other hand, i am shy, and sensitive. idk

It's not only possible to be more than one sign, you are in fact all 12. And no, it doesn't make astrology bogus, it's how astrology works. I will explain:

You are more than just your sun sign. This is where most people err in their judgement of astrology. There are in fact *more* influences in your birth chart. Yeah, there's a whole chart full of them for everyone. Imagine a wheel, and in the center of the wheel, there's earth. That's where you are. Now on the outside of the wheel, there are the 12 zodiac signs, 30 degrees of the wheel each. The wheel is further subdivided into 12 sections, called houses, not neccesarily 30 degrees each, hardly ever, in fact. Some houses will be larger, some smaller. Each house represents an area of your life. The dividing lines between the houses are called cusps. Each house cusp will typically reside in a different sign (sometimes they skip a sign, that's called interception). Thus, each sign has a place in the individual's life. So, to very briefly run through what each house represents:

First house: House of Self, your outward appearance, the first impression you make on people, how you project yourself.
Second house: House of possessions, and things you value
Third house: House of communication, and short trips
Fourth house: House of home, your roots.
Fifth house: house of creativity, fun, children, games, romance.
Sixth house: House of health, service to others, work ethic.
Seventh house: House of relationships and partnerships.
Eighth house: House of death, rebirth, transformation, regeneration, sex, the afterlife.
Ninth house: house of higher learning, philosophy, religion, and long distance travel.
Tenth house: House of career and status.
Eleventh house: House of friendships, and involvement with groups and organizations.
12th house: spirituality, secrets, the hidden, self undoing.

So, each of the 12 house cusps as I said before will reside in one of the 12 signs.

Example: My own chart

1st house cusp (also called the ascendant) in Leo, so this is how I project myself. (I don't think that anyone on this forum will argue with that, lol:))
2nd house: in virgo
3rd house: in Libra
4th house: in Scorpio (4th house cusp is referred to as the immum coeli (sp?) or the IC another important cusp in the chart)
5th house: in Sagittarius
6th house: in Capricorn
7th house: in Aquarius (7th house cusp is reffered to as the descendant)
8th house in Pisces
9th house in Aries
10th house in Taurus (the midheaven)
11th house in Gemini
12th house in Cancer.

So as you can see, I have all 12 signs represented in a different aspect of my life.

Beyond that, there are planets as well.

Sun your personality
Moon your emotional nature
Mercury how you think
Venus how you love, what you find beautiful
Mars Your physical drive
Jupiter where you find luck, capacity for expansion.
Saturn, restrictions and limitations, and discipline
Uranus: innovation, technology, sudden change, surprise.
Neptune: fantasies, illusion, delusion, spirituality, addiction, the mystical, etc...
Pluto: transformation.

It is highly unlikely that you would have all of those planets (actually the sun and moon are referred to as luminaries, though) within the same sign. I would venture to guess that if you've got pisces tendencies, you've at least got Mercury or Venus in Pisces, as those two planets tend to travel fairly close to the sun.

Once again, personal example:
sun sag
moon aqua
venus cap
mercury scorpio
mars aries

etc., etc....

There are more influences to look at than that, but this is a good start. So you see, we are not one dimensional beings, but we are the sum of our parts.

I will likely be back later to add more.

Darn it! I wanted to finish that!!

Thanks for BA:) Report It

  • some birthdays fall on the cusp, which means you can have a mix of both signs that fall on the month in question.
