They are protective of themselves just like Cancers. They see with a 3rd eye and see that most are not genuine. Most people wear masks to get what they want or to be seen a certain way. It may be a matter of time before they see that it's not an act from you. Once they see your vulnerable side it may change.
They actually make good friends being both water. I have gained a few scorpio friends and they are loyal but not to those they are still trying to figure out. Don't take it personal and just be you then it will be alright with them.
Their not mean as much as dominating. Scorpio are also very good at wearing the mask you assume of them. So, don't accept their actions as mean, just treat it as an act of caution and they will warm up to you.

I have been 'stung' by some scorpio girls before and this includes guys too. They are always looking for ways to get back at you to make themselves feel better even though they may just be jealous of you. Other people can just accept that sh1t happens but scorpios just have to ruin someone elses life to make themselves feel better.
Strange really because Cancer and Scorpio are meant to be a good match. Maybe some other aspects of your birth chart. But you know there is always a big expectation of the rule, try to believe me and I am sure in what I am talking. Now you think all Scorpios are mean to you but let me tell you something.
Once in high school I have been a friend with one Scorpio girl who was a backstabber and we ended our so called friendship after 4 years. So I thought maybe Scorpio girls are backstabbers and I was soooo wrong! Later in my life all Scorpios I know have been nice and supportive to me, even some been rude due to their mood changes, later they come up nice and we patch and we are kind of always friends. I haven't met so loyal friends and they never do backstab like that girl, they despise doing so, and they are all very trust worth. Even I have been hurt or deeply sad, I might appear later on and we smooth it out again.
Another conclusion I made wrong, I have met some Gemini people really mean and always making the situation like they are the person who is upset and it is always your fault, they twist your words, pick on you and then they are innocent. I felt irritated to a limit. Then not long ago I met nice and really intelligent Gemini person and she is not mean at all, she is honest, and professional in the way she copes with her job and the challenges the job has on offer.
Last example, I was thinking all Aries people, due to experience drive me crazy and want to fight with me, all the Aries girls were so aggressive with their words with me. Then in my new job I had a hard day and one girl was helping the whole time and she was so cool, nice and supportive, she even didn't know me. Now we are friends and I asked her what's her sign and she said Aries, she is pretty cool and not like the others I used to know.
So my advice is, don't limit your scope because of some experince, soon maybe you would have a great Scorpio best friend and you would discover how worth, intelligent, loyal, supportive and caring they can be. They are nice people, of course if you meet the right nice Scorpio people. I really hope your experience won't stop you to go and meet with cool Scorpio people. All the best!

its not only u.....i noticed it in two more scorpio girls too...they have some problem...they seem to feel jealous of other women.
Maybe they are judging you to be too prissy or something. I'm a scorpio and sometimes I get preconceived notions about people, especially other girls. So maybe they think you are a bad person in some way.
