How can air signs be detached in their emotions?!

Lol they don't "do" that. They just are. Mind and Emotions are inversely related. The more you are in your mind the less you are with your body and emotions. This might cause problems such as loneliness, over-thinking, and less pleasure if too much, so we need to balance them with earth and water signs. On the other hand if you are too into emotions you would become clingy, naive, easily taken advantage of, not smart etc...
Air signs like more philosophy and books. They like their ideas and fight for causes. They help the world on a bigger scale espacially libras and aquarius.
Libras are actually quite social and clingy. Yeah they really really are, but other than being diplomatic, they are not known to be intellectually talented like Aquarius and Gemini. But they do have potential.
Aquarius are the most detached. But they are also most diplomatic, humanitarian, genius having knowledge from "beyond", and more. Aquarius are objective and do not get involved emotionally even though they help everyone. They must if they are to see the big picture which they can. Gemini can be pretty objective too.
Air signs like meeting new people but do not like attaching themselves to them too much. They like to learn from everyone espacially gemini and aquarius.

Edit: PS also earth signs are known to be cold and emotionless espacially virgo and capricorn.
I'm emotional but I tend to hold back showing my emotions, I keep them in and usually just joke about it, smile or ingore the person instead of going off about it and showing a reaction.

Because they analyse or overanalyse everything instead of going with their gut feelings which water signs are very good at.
They try to bring rationality to everything whilst some things are just "felt" and cannot be properly explained....
I think the best analogy I could give you is the R&S section......look and see..
It is not that they are non-emotional...after all everybody has a moon, venus etc.....it is just another way of thinking and dealing with their feelings.
Good or bad...........some people are over-emotional without pondering why all the feelings come from and some , maybe, would rather do without, suppress them........but we are all humans after all.......so it always come out one way or another..
I'm a Libra and sometimes I have a hard time showing my emotions. The reason I don't show my emotions, is because if I show them, there may be some chaos.
We feel just as deeply as others on the inside. Expressing them outwardly though is uncomfortable and awkward, so most of us keep our emtions bottled up. Also, we tend to think rationally (with our heads) instead of emotionally (with our hearts). The mindset would be more along the lines of "WHY should I feel this way?" instead of "I feel this way because......". Does that make any kind of sense? We "think" about our feelings more than we express them.
Not all do... I know a few Libras who are so over emotional you want to tell them enough is enough.....
The few Libra ladies I have known have all been very expressive in dance and hobbies.. They are givers and excepting gifts isn't always easy for them.
Men Libras will do a song and dance for you and this is how they express their emotion... Sometimes overreacting and replaying the same scenerio that you must tell them you already heard it once before. ..... So much animation goes into it, they get a bit cocky at times....
i don't think that's true at all... i know a couple of gemini's that are very emotional... one was a close friend and she was known for being 'emo'... my dad is an Aquarius and he is very emotional... i think that most air signs don't know how to handle their own emotions... i think that it seems like they are detached because they can act so distant sometimes, but it's because they hate dealing with feelings so they 'run' away or hide what they feel...
i think fire sign are the most detached to their emotions... especially leo's... but in general i think all people feel the same, it's just that everyone deals with them differently and some know how to control their emotions more than others.
Detached means "far removed". They just don't go there.
I guess they don't feel as intensely as others,
they are aloof, distant and cold. read between the lines, it's a cover. we're all emotional beings. some hide it more than others--i.e. air signs
