Question: What's a clever yet casual way of asking a person's rising and moon sign, etc., if you've not known them too long? Would you feel uneasy if say one of your classmates or co-workers wanted to know that from you?

Ask for the birthday, then figure it out yourself. Before they know you're into astrology, preferably, so as not to arouse too much suspicion. Birthdays are easy to work into conversations, and you can figure out a person's rising sign pretty easily just by observing them, so that gives you a rough idea of birth time as well. Then all you need to do is work out location of birth, which is also fairly easily worked into conversation, i.e. "So where are you from/where did you grow up"...something like that.
Rising and moon signs I don't think a lot of people in the general population even know about. Seems more easy and sneaky to get the birthday place, year, and time somehow and find those out on your own. Unless they were curious to hear your knowledge.
If someone wanted to know my moon and rising, I'd be private about it. I don't even share my birthday, just because I've seen what some people can do with it.
I would ask, "Do you enjoy a sunrise or a sunset?"
and if they asked, "Why?"
Then I would reply, "Curious of which shade of the day makes you feel alive."
Or if its their birthday, then I take the sexy opportunity on that day to ask this, "What time were you born on this beautiful day?"
and if they ask, "Why?"
Then I would reply, "Its more appropriate to celebrate your birthday on the exact time." {Then give a coy smile to them}
Believe it or not, that one really worked the most. Most people are so candid on their birthday.
