I’m a Scorpio and this is true with me, my mom is also but she appears to have many friends. – The key word there is “appears”.. Scorpios are headstrong and their confidence can come off as arrogance, so while they have some friends, there are usually only a few close friends that can handle it. This isn’t true of all Scorpios, of course, but I’ve noticed that pattern also and I really think it’s due to the headstrong, leader-loner nature. And what the other person said also, about privacy, Scorpios keep a lot to themselves and that can tend to seem standoffish.

I am a scorpio and have many friends, but only 5 really close friends (like brothers) I have known them all for over twenty five years.
I dont think they are "loners"...They need to be needed and cant stand to be alone.
Scorpio tends to keep his business to himself, not a loner, just intensely private.''trust me", there is a lot going on under the surface.

I just don't feel that interested in superficial connections, which most friends start out being. I do meet a few people where we get deep connections right away, so they become part of my "inner circle." I actually love spending time by myself. Every other Scorpio I know personally is the same way.
Because they are highly psychically sensitive, always sucking in others "garbage"....people suck off all their energy, big time, so they need time alone to "recharge".
Most Scorpios that I know besides myself, are very social and extroverted. We choose not to have many friends, since we are highly selective of people that we get close to, but the ones that we do let in our lives are very special people that we would protect to death.
We are honest and loyal friends and partners and we want the same it return. You can just have a casual relationship with a Scorpio, its either all or nothing.

I'm not a loner.
I have a lower amount of close friends but that's because people judge me like a cover of a book and because I chose too. If you were to look at ALL of my friends, I'd have many. But the ones I'd mentioned first, there's only about 7.
