Question: I was always under the assumption the life path numbers went up to 9....I recently saw someone post their birth number as 11...is the birth number and the life path number the same?

Technically, yes that is a valid number, but it means the same thing as a 2 or for example 22 would be the same thing as 4, the only difference being it is considered a "master number" which is supposed to have significant meaning as opposed to 13 which would be regular 4:

You can also calculate your life path, personal year, attitude number, etc. I have an 11 birth number, which is why I met her in the first place, and found numerology and astrology go hand in hand. The site also explains what you're asking, the numbers mean the same, just higher vibrations(2, 11; 22, 4) And you need to take all your numbers into consideration, not just one.
