If your chart lacks in an element, is there a way to bring it out anyway?!

Question: My chart lacks in earth. Although I have Venus in Virgo, Virgo is in its fall. And being around plenty of Virgos, I can tell I am very opposite of them.

I do have a good amout of earth in the shared placements (also mainly Virgo); however, it does not seem to benefit me. What I lack is the earth sign composure (although they offer much more than that).

I'm a Scorpio Sun/Gemini Moon/Venus in Virgo/Leo in Mars.

Look to see if you have an earth sign on the cusp of your 4th, 7th or especially 10th house. Lots of people who have no planets in a particular element have a sign on one of those cusps that makes up for it.

For example here is a little something on Bill Gates:

"Well Bill Gates, world’s richest man and the founder of Microsoft, has no planets in Earth Signs. Impractical? Not worldly? What are those superficial interpretations missing? If a sign that belongs to that missing element happens to sit on one of the Angles of your horoscope (the Ascendant, Mid-Heaven, Descendant, or Nadir) you can make up for that deficit big time. Gates’ horoscope, the Earth Sign Capricorn, appears on the Descendant. Capricorn specifically rules organizational ability, efficiency, and persistence. It is said that Gates thinks that taking a vacation is a sign of weakness and that time off for him means time to catch up on his reading."

PS Sorry to hear about your Venus in Virgo! I live with one.

Hi Catwoman,

My Chart lacks of water sign. It has more earth sign instead and that makes me extremely practical and logical. I am sag with mercury in sag, Venus n moon in cappy, mars in Virgo and only one water that is Scorpio rising which makes me a passionate person. The rest of charts are all earth and fire signs.

It's all about learning, living and reality. Let's turn dreams to reality else, there's no point dreaming.

However, In my entire life so far, I always and always attract and to be attracted to water signs. I have no idea why. Water signs people fascinate me in a way that they can really provide me and open a door for me to see that.. this world is sooo beautiful and there are many things unseen and we need to explore it and we can see the unseen. It's in the heart. Water signs people are very passionate, affectionate and emotional. It's okay to have dreams.. and it's amazing. I've learned a lot from the water signs. They can help me bringing out the feminine, sensible, sensual and affectionate side of me.

Yes, I think neptunerising is right. You have to look at your houses.

By the same token, since my chart has almost run out of water, I think it becomes balanced by the presence of my Scorpio midheaven.

Also, as #1 Girl said, a good way to learn about Earth is to socialize with Earth signs. You could try the ones with a lot of water, air or fire influence (depending on which of the 3 is more dominant in your chart) at first and then meet others with more Earth traits (provided that you don't mind them being different than what you are until now used to.)

Good luck!

In my own experience (moon in gemini, like you, but you already knew that, of course! ^_^ - and that is just about the only object in an air sign, so I pretty much lack that element) you can only bring it out when the object you DO have in that element, is a focal point in your chart - sign and house wise. Coincidence has it that the moon in my chart is the bucket of a handle and so my entire chart is focused on the moon.

That way, you can naturally bring it out.

Now, if you have absolutely no objects in one element sign, it becomes quite hard - the only thing you can hope for is that there are objects in the houses with the same element and then hope for the best - and focus on the area of those houses to bring that element out a bit more.

If - and this is very rare - you happen to have no objects in either sign or house of one certain element, maybe the best thing is to learn to focus on the other elements you do have plenty of - after all, when you simply cannot play basketball you're not going to force yourself to play it, would you? It would only seem very unnatural and you would feel better when you stop focusing on that element.

However, I have noticed that the element a person lacks in his chart, usually shows up plenty in their social circle - I always come across air signs myself ^_^
