Usually the two don't correlate. Chinese zodiac is it's own thing, and so is Western astrology. Although in Western astrology you will find many different styles and interpretations. Did you know that you have every sign somewhere in your birth chart (Western astrology)? Since you are just starting, I would suggest checking out the site I listed below. You will find that your birth chart is as personal and unique to you as your own fingerprint. This is because a birth chart is made from not only your birth date, but the city you were born in as well as the EXACT time you were born. I have seen hundreds of charts and none are the same, or even close to the same as mine.
Besides your Sun sign (Leo) you also have a Moon sign, Rising sign, Mercury sign, Venus sign, Mars sign, Saturn sign, Jupiter sign, Pluto sign, Neptune sign, and Uranus sign!
