Just out of curiosity, why is the horoscopes section put under entertainment?!

Question: Although i am aware that horoscopes are seen with a great deal of scepticism in our society surely those asking horoscope related questions would be the ones who believed in it and thus didn`t use it purely for entertainment reasons. so why isn`t it put in religion and spirituality or philosophy?

No, it's okay, because it means that it is based on artistic skill in symbolism reading, and should be a fun means to get to know yourself. Since it is not officially scientifically based, it is listed under entertainment.
Astrology should be an entertaining means of getting to know oneself. Placing it under a more serious header would be pushing it. Afterall, those who know, know it's true worth. Titles or categories don't mean anything, so long as the beauty of the art exists and is known.

p/s: Also, alot of amateurs claim to be astrologers. Putting it under entertainment is a way of saying - hey, if your sign or chart is read wrongly, blame not the art, for it is but a means of entertainment!

I am not sure if it has been acknowledged as truth in astrology

I think it's mainly becuase people want people to look at horoscopes, and lots more people go to entertainment than religion/spirituality/philosophy it seems these days...

But then again I could be wrong =]

I agree it shouldn't be there. It's boring as hell, and not entertaining at all

Maybe they hope it entertains you. Ha Ha!

because sadly that's all astrology is to people: entertainment. Hard convincing them otherwise because it isn't "science". You'll find out the hard way as i did that people on here seem to not care much about "astrology" they just wanna know "is my boyfriend good for me?" or "what's my future?". such things are not up to astrology, they are up to the person. astrology teaches this but most people just don't see it that way. too close-minded if ya ask me.

i say it should be under society & culture. social science is wrong; it's not science. but i agree, it shouldn't be here either. philosophy would be good, or maybe just have a separate category in S & C deemed "Astrology". more people would use it than you might think.

good Q though; write to the Answers team. i do it, they don't listen, but if more and more people do it, they might say "hey, we got something here." anything's possible.

Maybe Jokes and Riddles would be a good section for it, since it's pretty funny that anyone would believe this stuff?

Because it's something people are entertained by in their spare time. Just as the other subjects in this category--
Celebrities
Comics & Animation
Jokes & Riddles
Magazines
Movies
Music
Polls & Surveys
Radio
Television
I don't think putting it under entertainment implies that it is not real.

Check out some of the old answers with reference to your question. One of the main reasons is Yahoo wants to avoid lawsuits. Just like so many other places, there's always that small, fine, print that says "for entertainment purposes only." We've been after them for some time to have a separate serious, astrology section, but to no avail. Yet totally absurd stuff is under science and mathmatics, or other sections. I've noticed more and more people are posting astrology questions under paranormal hoping to get more serious answers.

Legal reasons. There are many cities with laws that say that psychic and astrology advice is not legal without a disclaimer that it's for entertainment purposes only. Those daily blurbs for strangers can't be anything but entertainment. If the informaton was posted as a promise, people would sue for fraud and false advertising.
