There are actually REAL psychics out there in our world, but unfortunatly there are alot more who are fake. And yes they will ask your name, and also ask you trick questions so they can gather up information about you WITHOUT you actually realising it. They will tell you things that is possible to happen to not only you, but millions of other people aswel.
ANY pychic or fortune teller who asks you your FULL name and any details about where you live, when you was born etc are fake. Anyone who asks you questions before or even during a reading is usually fake aswel. They are very clever at gathering their information. ANYONE who asks for payment BEFORE a reading are usually fake.
HOWEVER, as with myself I only need to know your first name or a nickname you go by (and there are thousands of people in the world who have your first name or nickname) so its impossiable for me to find out who you are this way. I also ask you to write down the numbers from 1 to 36 and then ask you to choose randomly 9 of these numbers. Along with these nine numbers (which will be the nine tarot cards you pick for your reading) and your FIRST name or nickname this is ALL i need. If you wonder why i even need to know your first name this is because i need to have a name to work with before I deal the cards. The nine numbers are the cards which will represent your reading. I have done this many times for people in Yahoo and my readings have been successful. They not talking about little things that ANYBODY could be going through but are closer to home and YOUR current thoughts, situations etc. I read for friends and family aswel, and they obviously choose the cards themselves after they have suffled the the pack themselves. I do not ask for payments either. This is something i enjoy doing in my spare time, because i enjoy helping and guiding others. I do not take what was never mine.
Maybe they do talk to your higher self especially when you are asleep at night. There are instances in my life where I desperately needed to gain an understanding in an area of my life. For example, struggling with a question based on something really important in my life. Without realising with what I was doing, I put a call out to God and his angels to 'really help me' with the matter. The next day, a clairvoyant I had met only once at a Psychic Fair (who I had given my contact details to) phoned me out of the blue to ask me how I am going? Mind you, when I was calling out to God and his angels for help I was unpacking my bag from a holiday in WA and was holding her pamphlet at the time. We are connected to each other all the time. If you have a genuine call for help, you will get the response from whomever you connected to during your innermost wish. Go to some metaphysical bookshops that work with the white light of the universe and ask if they know any psychics you could meet.
