Question: Can someone please explain to me when they say sun in venus, moon in leo and rishing ascendant in Gemini? Is is just for that day or is it a permanent thing? And also could you please tell me mine? My birthday is 14-12-1986 and I was born at 5:08am.

Well since your birthday is written out as a Sagittarius I am going to guess that something in your chart is a bit off. You might want to try this site to figure out what exactly your placement. It is free and it has links to help you interpret the chart that it will draw for you. Specifically it will go into detail as to which sign was in which house of the zodiac. It helps define the terms as well :)

I personally think the sun, moon, and the heavens have a large effect on us (no pun intended) and see no harm in observing the risings and wanings and such like.
i searched though, and there are a billion websites that promise to tell you the answer to that simple question but they want you to sign up for their "free" stuff.

Sun can't be in Venus. Well, not "technically". If sun is in Venus, then that means your SUN sign is either Taurus or Libra.
Your moon is just another aspect that shows the way you are inside; emotionally. Leo's emotional tend to be laid-back, a bit sensitive, very clever, super musical, even artistic, photogenic, friendly, over-bearing at times, fun and super-dramatic and feminine.
