Cold and calculated, yes, because they are the sign of justice and try very hard to live up to that ideal. Justice is not an easy concept to live up to! They usually try to be fair, not usually, or solely for the sake of their own gain (even though it can be.. self centredness is a universal trait), but so they won't feel guilty for failing an ideal that is embedded in their personality.

Firstly, Libras seem "feminine", indeed...it is because of Venus.
They are the charmers of the zodiac. BUT, there is always a shadow and since Libras are Air signs they function with their brains and total objectivity- YES, they can be VERY detached even with their lover.
Their actions are calculated because, on the one hand that's is the main reason why they take so much time to decide- weighing prons and cons (they want to make sure that the decision is right) and on the other, they need equality in relationships which means that they choose partners which are most closely to that.
They make things look better because that's the way they WANT to seem them-They are optimistic and idealists. Sometimes they present only the good side but, you must be sure that for every single positive they have also found its negative.

I most definitely am an iron fist in a velvet glove. Though I don't think I'm cold and I don't lie. But I can manipulate the truth to better the situation for everyone (we do care what other's think). Being ruled by Venus, we seem like feminine, pretty, cute little fluff-balls (even the guys are pretty-boy charmers). But don't be fooled. We aren't as dumb as we seem at first glance. We are masculine Air Signs, ruled by intellect. We are very smart and know how to match wits with best of them! This is where people are shocked. We can be crafty and manipulative, but usually for the betterment of everyone involved. Just don't think you can trick us; we're smarter than the average bear.
