All of the fire signs are naturally optimistic, and the air signs are very positive too... from what i've seen. Most would be sag.
I disagree about pisces being positive.. maybe there are some out there, but man... are they very negative ppl. Water and earth are negative signs and more inclined to be negative imo. but not ALL are like that, i'll admit.
I think Pisces is probably the most optimistic. They are dreamers and shoot high in everything. Their imaginations get the best of them- making them more optimistic sometimes. Just my opinion.
Sags hands down....Jupiter influence, you see.
I'm Libra. it's good because Libras are out going. i think my planet is Venus. every day i look at my hora scope on yahoo, and it tells me what i need to do.it's very accurate.
Iam saturn(8th) square sun(5th) house person. Makes me always depressive, self-destructive, gothic, kills the fun, hate authority.

I go with Eliza.. Sags are the most optimistic!! And the most pessimistic - Cancers!! :-) (according to me)
Sags are extremely optimistic and I would like to say Libra comes next.
I think the most pessimistic is Scorpio, in my opinion.
Sagittarius is the most optimistic sign. Leo and Aquarius are also optimistic.
Sags, even when things are down they still laugh about it or find the humor in it.
