What is the difference between an ascendant and rising sign?!

Question: Or are they the same thing? I know my rising sign is Aries. What does this mean and how can I find out where the other planets in the signs in my chart? Please give me a good site that's free if you can. Thanks!

There is no difference between an ascendant and a rising sign...you just get one. It is the sign that was on the horizon at your time of birth. If you have your time of birth (check your birth certificate for this information) and your birth location; you can input your birth information and get your natal chart calculated for free at many websites. You can google "free birth chart" or "free natal chart" or try astrology.com

Good question... They are both and the same to a certain point. You can have up to 3 rising signs at the same time.

People post anything as answers but don't realize that, if you have an intercepted sign in the Ascendant, and lets say it is Gemini. That means the rising sign on the cusp is Taurus, and you have all of Gemini, plus a little of Cancer at the end.

Just Google "Free Astrology chart"..... You will need the time of birth, the exact location and yout D.O.B.

Ascendant is Rising Sign, they're one and the same. I do not believe in having two or more signs assign to a cusp or rulership unless the sign is at most 3 degrees or lower away from the cusp.
