How can a planet be under the influence of more than one sign?!

Question: I don't understand how a planet can be under two signs at the same time. If a planet is in Aries, and the House it's in is Taurus or Pisces or whatever, then what is the actual influence?

hmm, well a planet is never IN 2 signs. it can be on a cusp (any planet or asteroid can be a "cusp" planet/asteroid). i think i see what you're saying though.

for example, if someone had their saturn in aries in the 5th house, yet the house itself is ruled by pisces(the first cusp of the 5th is under pisces) and co-ruled by aries (second cusp of the 5th is under aries) then saturn is still interpreted as being "in aries in the 5th" and not "in aries and pisces in the 5th." then the proper description would follow, some "blah, blah, blah, ooh, very interesting...", you know.

when looking at and interpreting JUST A HOUSE, the sign ruling, the sign co-ruling, and any planets (if there) are then incorporated to that specific chart, thus giving us the "description of that particular house in that particular chart". BUT, when looking at and interpreting JUST A PLANET/ASTEROID, then we look at it's house and sign placements. then we see the "description of that particular planet in that particular chart."

so, i guess, a planet can NOT be under two signs, it is ruled by one. and in cusps, it is co-ruled by both signs (it has no actual main "ruler").
