Astrology question about if moon signs have decans?!

Question: Okay I was born with a sagittarius moon between 20 and 30 degrees. That would mean it's in the Leo decan but do decans only count for sun signs or do they count for every other sign as well?

They count for all signs. You are a Sag moon with Leo twist

Hi,

Decans refers to the division of all signs into 3 parts and applies to all points, be it Sun, Moon, planet or ascendant, midheaven, etc..

Signs can also be divided into "dwads." A dwad being 2.5 degrees, meaning each sign has within it all 12 signs. There are different techniques for dwads, but the most common starts with the sign and then goes through the other 11 in sequence. For example, I am a Virgo with Mercury at 0 degrees Virgo 18 minutes. So my Mercury is in Virgo, Virgo decan and Virgo dwad. The Virgo dwad extending from 0 Virgo 00 to 2 Virgo 29'59". 2 Virgo 30 is the beginning of the Libra dwad of Virgo.

There is also a less used technique which divides the signs into 7.5 degrees parts based on the mode, called "quadruplicities". That is each sign is divided into 4 parts representing the 4 signs of the same mode, cardinal, fixed or mutable. Using my Sun which is 10 Virgo 43, it is in the Capricorn decan, Capricorn dwad and Sagittarius quad.

These all refer to divisions of the signs and can be applied to all points, even house cusps.

I hope this is helpful.
Jim

decans are degrees, its just used for measuring of the area of circumference since this is how we know how strong that planets influence.
